GIS Stories in GIS Day 2022
This is not just an event. It's a global movement. This day brings universities,
government agencies, schools, nonprofits, and GIS professionals together to build
knowledge of GIS in their communities and create understanding
about the world we live in.
GIS Day happens because you have a passion for geospatial thinking.
Through your event a seed is planted that
grows GIS understanding in your community, and around the world.
Each of us has the power to inspire and change the
world through GIS. Join the movement on GIS Day !

GIS Training Day
The fundamental understanding is that information within a certain vicinity
depending on the scale in which it is needed can help achieve a competitive
edge and a deeper understanding when it comes to decision-making.
The training follows a step-by-step basis, starting from knowing and understanding
the surrounding and finalizing decisions using the gathered data. To create a mindset
that encompasses awareness and identifying the correlation between each entity, special
training is conducted to condition the mind to visualize these aspects like it is second nature.
GIS compromises several layers of data; each being generalized to deepen the level of
understanding and how each entity’s relationship affects each other.

Sustainable development with GIS
With climate change, global warming, and ever-decreasing resources on the rise, sustainability
is the only solution to save the planet and save the future.
The first step is to understand the triple bottom line which is people, planet,
and profit. If we tackle the problems with sustainable solutions in each of
these aspects, we can look for a greener future. While they are a number
of steps and procedures that can be taken each requires data to create an
effective plan. Most of the data required can be provided with the use of GIS
as geographically referenced information can assist in laying effective and efficient
grid systems in power and water, and reduce transportation costs and energy
in distribution channels and customer pickups.
